FC Barcelona should formalize, Monday, the arrival of the young Spanish international Ferran Torres from Manchester City, reports the daily “Marca”.
The 21-year-old arrived in Barcelona on Sunday and will have to undergo a medical examination before signing a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Catalans, the specialist newspaper said.
The transfer amount is 55 million euros excluding bonus. To face this operation, Barça, victim of financial problems, is called upon to get rid of a few players like the Dutch Luuk de Jong.
Recruited by Manchester City in August 2020 for a sum of 28 million euros, Ferran Torres (22 caps, 12 goals) has played 43 games in all competitions with the formation based at the Etihad Stadium, for 16 goals.
He is Barça’s second signing since the arrival of Xavi, after that of Brazilian Dani Alves.
