CNSS. Towards the creation of a special social status for sea fishermen

Fishermen could soon benefit from a special social status in terms of social protection. In this perspective, a technical unit composed of the FPM, the CNSS and the supervisory ministry will be created shortly to discuss the development of this new status.

Discussions between the National Social Security Fund (CNSS) and the Federation of Maritime Fisheries (FPM) of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), in this direction, are continuing. Moreover, the subject was at the center of a recent meeting between Mohamed Ali Oukacha, president of the FPM and Hassan Boubrik, director general of the CNSS.

We learn that the said meeting allowed the two parties to discuss the possibility of compensating fishermen who lost their jobs during the extension of the biological rest period and creating a new social status for them. The aim is to secure their allowances and pensions and take into account all the specificities of their work.

It should be noted that a technical unit composed of the FPM, the CNSS and the supervisory ministry will be created shortly to discuss the technical-administrative aspects necessary for the development of this new status aimed at offering social coverage more adapted to sea fishermen. .
