Covid19 in Morocco: 532 new cases in 24 hours

A total of 532 new cases of infection with the new coronavirus (Covid-19) and 127 recoveries have been recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection said on Sunday.

In its daily bulletin on the epidemiological situation, the ministry noted that the number of first-time vaccines reached 24,525,624, that of people who received two doses rose to 22,887,399, while 2,669,249 people had three injections.

The new infection toll brings to 956,119 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco in March 2020, while the number of people recovered has risen to 937,705, i.e. a cure rate of 98.1%.

The new cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (289), Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (118), Marrakech-Safi (91), Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima (12), Souss-Massa (11), l’Oriental (3), Beni Mellal-Khénifra (3), Drâa-Tafilalet (2), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (2), Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra (2), Guelmim-Oued Noun (1) and Fès-Meknès (1).

The total number of deaths rose to 14,828 (case fatality 1.6%), with a new case recorded in the Casablanca-Settat region (1).

There are 3,586 active cases, while severe or critical cases reached 12 in 24 hours, bringing their total to 110. As for the occupancy rate of intensive care beds, it stands at 2.1%.
