Highly anticipated, the new cinematographic film, dedicated to the late Fatema Mernissi, directed by producer and director Mohamed Abderrahmane Tazi, will be released in national cinemas from September 28, 2022. The announcement is made by the filmmaker himself , while posting on its official Facebook page the official trailer of the film. Indeed, the film entitled “Fatema, the unforgettable Sultane”, is co-written in collaboration with the director Farida Belyazid. It depicts the life of Fatema Mernissi, a committed sociologist and writer, daring and revolutionary in her actions and her writings. “Fatema is outstanding, for at least 40 years on the Moroccan, Arab and international level, by its work on society or its relationship to religion. The filmmaker who intervenes in the film as an actor knows Fatema Mernissi perfectly since her childhood. “I have known, rubbed shoulders with and frequented Fatema Mernissi for more than 50 years. Through the works of the free and rebellious woman, she was listening to Morocco on the move and in the permanent observation of what is happening in society.
It should be noted that the film was shot in Zagora and Rabat. The actress Meryem Zaimi plays the main role there. “I think she’s an excellent actress with a lot of talent.
