Higher education: 2,350 teachers will be recruited this year, a historic record, according to Abdellatif Miraoui

On the occasion of the start of the 2022-2023 academic year, the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation announced during a press conference on the morning of this Tuesday, September 20, 2022, the recruitment of 2,350 teachers for the higher cycle.

A national record. The Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation will, during this year, recruit 2,350 teachers and executives for teaching in the higher cycle. An announcement by Abdellatif Miraoui, during a press conference, on the morning of this Tuesday, September 20, 2022, on the occasion of the start of the 2022-2023 academic year.

“This is the first time that the government has devoted so many budget items to higher education teachers,” welcomed the minister. In detail, among the 2,350 budgetary positions reserved for the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, 760 positions are devoted to professors specializing in education sciences and medicine, while nearly 1,600 positions are reserved for pedagogical and administrative supervisors, explained the minister.

In the same context, Abdellatif Miraoui announced the creation of a national recruitment platform, as well as the establishment of a new recruitment procedure, “based on meritocracy, transparency and fairness”.

Another announcement and not the least: the Ministry of Higher Education has decided to break with the experiment of transferring the budgetary positions of civil servants with doctorates to universities. “This practice undermined the fairness of opportunities for access to higher education for all holders of a doctorate,” said Abdellatif Miraoui in this regard.
