The ordinary general meeting of the National Association of Media and Publishers (ANME) was held this Thursday, September 22, 2022 in Casablanca, in the presence of more than 80 press companies. This meeting was an opportunity to present and approve the moral and financial reports of the association, and to consider various issues relating to the constraints related to the sector.

“During this first general meeting, we were able to take a tour of the different aspects of the association’s activity from 2021 to 2022. We also discussed the moral and financial reports. The moral report addressed the achievements of the association, the state of progress and the challenges relating to the development and improvement of the quality of journalistic practice and which aim to defend the formal sector of journalism and the media. , ANME treasurer Khalid El Horri said in a statement for The360.

This meeting was also an opportunity to talk about future ANME projects. “The president of the association, Driss Chahtane, presented us with the roadmap for the next stage. This took into account the relationship of actors in the sector with the State, because today we no longer claim subsidies, but rather support for investment and support for formal media companies, “added El Horri.

The objective of the association, according to our interlocutor, is to enable all players in the ecosystem to benefit from this support. “The informal media sector has more than 800 people. It is out of the question to exclude all these people from the media landscape”, he noted, stressing that the solution proposed by the ANME is to set up regional or territorial groupings in order to guarantee the integration of companies. and existing media.

Khalid El Horri ultimately assured that the association will continue to “work to consolidate freedom of expression and respect for the freedom of others”.
