The Saudi Minister of Commerce, Majid Ben Abdallah Al Qasabi, accompanied by a delegation of 100 Saudi business leaders, is expected in Morocco on October 4 to take part in the Morocco-Saudi Arabia Economic Forum.

The General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM) and the Federation of Saudi Chambers are preparing to organize the Morocco-Saudi Arabia Economic Forum, which will take place on October 4 in Casablanca, Le360 has learned from concordant sources.

This Forum will see the participation of the Minister of Industry and Trade Ryad Mezzour, and that of his Saudi counterpart, Majid Ben Abdellah Al Qasabi, who will be accompanied by a delegation of 100 Saudi business leaders.

This event will thus be an opportunity to explore the opportunities for investment and partnership between the operators of the two countries, particularly in the sectors of agriculture, agri-food, tourism, textiles, trade and energy.

This is not the first time that Saudi entrepreneurs have visited Morocco this year. On June 14, the Moroccan Association of Exporters (ASMEX) hosted a delegation of 25 businessmen chaired by Ali Borman El Yami, president of the Saudi Arabia-Morocco Business Council.

The year 2021 saw a significant increase in the volume of trade between Morocco and Saudi Arabia, which reached 17 billion dirhams. Moroccan exports to Saudi Arabia amounted to 768 million dirhams in 2021 against 16 billion dirhams for imports during the same year.

The structure of Moroccan exports to Saudi Arabia is mainly composed of passenger cars, raw and refined sugar and citrus fruits, while imports include energy products, plastic products, chemicals, raw and refined sulfur .
