Morocco announced the “extension of the suspension of all passenger flights to and from Morocco until January 31, 2022”, Instead of December 31 as initially decided, to fight against the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
The Cherifian kingdom has taken the decision to ban flights to its territory since November 29, de facto closing its airspace – with the exception of some special flights from / to Portugal, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates authorized in December.
This raises the question of the Atlas Lions summoned by Vahid Halilhodzic to take part in CAN 2021. To resolve this problem, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is currently working to find alternative solutions for the Lions of the Atlas who will have difficulty entering Moroccan soil.
The FRMF will thus call on private aircraft companies to repatriate the Atlas Lions to Rabat before joining the Mohammed VI Football Center in Sale, from Monday, December 27.
