stay in a hotel in his city of residence, it is not prohibited

HASNo legislation prohibits Moroccan women from staying in a hotel in their towns of residence. This was Interior Minister Abdelouafi Laftit’s response to Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP) MP Moulay Mehdi Fatimi.

In its response, Laftit indicates that no ministerial instruction requires hotel establishments to prohibit Moroccan women from staying in these hotels. Conclusion: the ban on Moroccan men and women staying in a hotel in their towns of residence is illegal.

According to the minister, his department “has not reported any violations or complaints at this level”. However, many Moroccans are deprived of their right to stay in a hotel institution if it is located in the same city where they live, without receiving any justification for this prohibition.
