Tennis: Federer will bow out on a double with Nadal

The two great rivals of the last fifteen years will be side by side to represent the European team against the American pair composed of Jack Sock and Frances Tiafoe who will represent the World team. The Swiss tennis player had mentioned on Wednesday the possibility of playing him as a team with the Spanish Matador, noting that “it could be a rather unique situation if that happens”.

“We fought for so long, but there was always this respect between us. Our families, our teams of coaches also get along well, ”he said.

“To have been able to maintain this good relationship is also a great message for the sport and beyond and for that reason it would be great if that happened. It would be a really special moment,” he concluded.

At 41, Federer, winner of 20 Grand Slam titles, will therefore play his last match at the O2 Arena in London in the evening before ending one of the most prolific careers in international tennis.
