AT Following a working meeting held with the grouping of regional associations of tourist restaurants, Fatim-Zahra Ammor undertook to “Integrate tourist restaurants into the most appropriate measures among the arsenal of measures that will benefit the tourism sector”, indicates a press release from the ministry. Several of these measures will be operationalized as soon as possible, specifies the same source.
During this working meeting, representatives of the sector expressed the critical situation of the sector since the border closures, the statement said, noting that Ms. Ammor, for her part, reiterated “His resolute commitment” to support tourist restaurateurs in the current context. Also, a set of emergency measures were discussed, in particular on the social, fiscal and banking aspects.
“The minister concluded by encouraging operators to work in a collaborative approach with the ministry to improve the legal framework governing classified restaurants”, underlines the press release, noting that this project will allow restaurateurs to better meet the new expectations of national and international tourists.
On December 21, the Group of regional associations of tourist restaurants in Morocco deplored, in a press release, “to be the only sector to have been excluded from any support and accompaniment measure, and to have received no aid or support measure, even though it was on the front line in the face of the devastating effects of this pandemic ”.
Professionals in the sector were therefore asking “An urgent meeting” with the Minister of Tourism, to of “To clarify a dangerous situation due to its social, financial and human repercussions and which affects an essential sector of tourist activity representing more than 1,000 establishments across the Kingdom”.
