National technical director Chris Van Puyvelde said Wednesday in Salé that Morocco is determined to develop football at all levels.
During a meeting of the coordination commission with the regional leagues of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maâmora, Mr. Van Puyvelde reminded the presidents of the regional leagues of the need to support the sporting take-off initiated by the FRMF under the presidency of Fouzi Lekjaa.
For the Belgian technician and trainer, priority must be given to the minimum categories, with in particular the launch by these leagues from next season of the U16 and U18 championships under the supervision of executives specially trained for this purpose in order to make the regional leagues a breeding ground for talent that will feed the national teams.
The director of training, Fathi Jamal, for his part, exposed the theme of continuous training for the benefit of the supervisors and coaches of the regional championships, which will be the future project taking into account the specificity of each league. The FRMF is willing to support regional training in the issuance of coaches’ diplomas, including B CAF diplomas.
In this regard, he indicated that six training sessions will be organized soon at the level of the leagues qualified for this project.
